Job description

Our client requires an experienced Program Manager to join them on a contract through to February.

The key purpose of this role is to analyse the critical cyber security needs of the diverse government entities served by CSU, influence the executive and technical decision makers, and manage and drive adoption of the delivery of CSU services to Queensland Government entities. This requires engagement at all levels including senior executives, management and technical staff.

All Queensland Government entities are in scope including Queensland Government Departments, Councils and Local Government Authorities, Statutory Bodies, Government Owned Corporations and other Queensland Government bodies.

In addition, this role will be required to ensure the optimisation of the service delivery processes in conjunction with the Cyber Defence Centre, provide input to future plans for new services and ensure consistent delivery of communications, including coordination with related Federal Government agencies, to this vital stakeholder cohort.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, coordinate and deliver information and cyber security programs including the CSU engagement program and understand, analyse and document information and cyber security related posture, risks, needs and priorities of Queensland Government entities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders both directly and through events and communities of practice to maximise stakeholder awareness of cyber threats and opportunities to improve organisational security posture.
  • Coordinate and deliver advice, training and awareness on information and cyber security both directly and through events and communities of practice to maximise stakeholder awareness of cyber threats and opportunities to improve organisational security posture.
  • Collaborate with intra and inter-jurisdictional entities including the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC), Australian Signal Directorate (ASD) & Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) to ensure consistency of message, advice and approach and to coordinate joint events, training and communications.
  • Support development of the Cyber Centre of Excellence (CofE) to share best practice in information and cyber security covering areas including data management, governance risk & compliance, policy, strategy, business continuity planning, incident response and recovery and the implementation of technical and process mitigations and controls.
  • Support activities that enhance the security posture of all CSU stakeholders including participation at relevant conferences supporting the Queensland Digital Government Summit and other relevant Queensland Government events and forums.

Mandatory requirements:

  • This position is a position of trust and will be required to apply for a national security clearance of at least the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
  • The department will make any necessary screening arrangements for preferred candidate/s if and when required.
